Step 2: To get the chest measurement, place your tape measure 2.5cm (1 inch) under the left armpit, stretch it across to 2.5cm (1 inch) under the right armpit. Then multiply the measurement by 2.

Step 3: This step measures the length. Place your tape measure at the top of the shoulder, next to the collar, and stretch your tape straight to the bottom of your t-shirt.

• The “hooded” phenotype is one of the oldest mutations in rats.
• The origin of hooded rats has never been officially determined, although it is believed that they are a descendant of the brown rat.
• The entire ventral surface of a hooded rat is white.
